Hi,

I've just ordered an Atlas Ice House and platform kit, and I'm building a small diorama for a local museum. Are there any problems with constructing the kits, or is it pretty straight-forward. I've certainly built a few styrene or plastic kits in my time, but you never know. I would guess it's probably best to paint as I go.

Thanks, take care,

Artie

I've helped a friend build his, exactly from the kit and without addition or modifications.  The kit was very straightforward and except for the usual trimming while pre-fitting pieces, no special skills or difficulties are involved.  Like any kit, you might want to think of what pieces you paint before assembled versus after, but its a simple kit and his had no warped or difficult pieces.

Hi,

I thought I'd update everyone on this project. The Atlas kits went together really nicely, although I had quite a bit of fussy sanding and filing as I painted sub-assemblies, and the paint added a bit to the already exactly fitted parts. It really came out nicely, I think, and here's a picture. The rest of the diorama should go fairly straight-forward from this point on. I want to thank everyone who gave me some input.

Take care,

Artie
