Could someone with a recent-issue Atlas #5 turnout post a close-up photo of how the rails are wired together. I'm planning out a layout with the option of using Atlas 3-rail track, but I'll need to insulate the outside rails.

Here's a recent Atlas #5 top and bottom.
Most of the connections are for the center rail. Looks like you would need to disconnect the link across the outside rails to the left of the points and possibly the connectors at the frog.
My O-54s only have 1 of 2 outside rails connected to the frog. The photo above of the #5s have both outside rails connected to the frog. The latter is consistent with Atlas documentation for wiring non-derail.
Also my O-54s have flat jumper wires. I also have previous Atlas switches with bare (round) jumper wires.
Thanks for the quick responses. That's exactly what I needed. What's going on is I'm designing a hybrid (2-rail/3-rail) layout and was considering Atlas track, but needed to be able to insulate the rails without destroying the turnouts.

Ahhh. That's what you're up to!
You might have to have an electrical switch or relay to connect the closure rails to the points or some other source of power. For two rail, they need to be live (unless your wheelbases are long enough to go without power for that distance) and for three rail they need to be insulated for when the center pick-up rollers contact them.
