Does anyone know if the Lionel LionChief App works with the LionChief Plus A5 0-4-0 switcher, # 6-82976 Bethlehem Steel? I purchased TWO of these and neither one worked with the app- ONLY with the hand held remote. One is going back because of a non working smoke unit. The first one I had to exchange because it wouldn't even communicate with the hand held remote. Poor Quality control???

It does not look like it has Bluetooth, but you can use the app with the universal remote as a hot spot. With the hot spot feature, you can control the older non Bluetooth engines.

No your engines do not have Bluetooth capability only runs conventional or using the remote, They were in the 2016 catalog I believe Bluetooth was introduced in the 2017 Volume 2 catalog.

The engine needs bluetooth for the app to run the engine directly.
OK- thanks. That explains EVERYTHING! I couldn't figure out why the app, regardless of different versions I tried, could never "see" the A-5 0-4-0, and yet found my other two engines! I wasted a lot of time on this!
