I got a beat up MTH G scale engine in that I'm going over. I was actually shocked that it fired up. The sounds were low and garbled so I swapped speakers and the sounds were good. I pulled the speaker chamber down to see this on the speaker magnet. I have not seen this before on newer speakers. I guess it can happen to anything!

WOW, I haven't seen any of the 4 ohm speakers do that, I guess they went back to that low quality supplier!

Same manufacturer so I am sure at one point material selection was off and all speakers made with that magnet could be at issue. G
