Guys,
I had written earlier asking about the feasibility of establishing a large layout in a separate building. I got lots of responses and suggestions with several of you asking for a follow-up once I made up my mind. I've decided to keep the current layout (about 13' x 13') and dispense with the separate building idea for a number of reasons. Cost, dealing with "officialdom," and the fact that it will take me years to get the current layout the way I want it are the biggest reasons.
I have a question that's off this topic, but I'd appreciate hearing any comments you might have. Is the best way to "weather" rolling stock and power to mix a gray paint with water (say five or six to one, water to paint) and apply sparingly with a small brush? I'll wait to hear what you think before I start.
