Hi All,

I am finally getting my layout going where it is running. I have a cab 1 L  system ,TPC 300 and a post-war Lionel ZW. I am running conventional with  TMCC engines and they run fine. When I run conventional post-war Lionel engines in conventional mode I get no horn or whistle when I press the whistle button and the directional button will not stop and reverse the engine? When I want to reverse it I have to turn the red Lionel button off and then turn it back on again to get neutral and off again to get the engine running in the direction I want. Is this normal? Please advise what I might be doing wrong in the setup.

Much thanks, Jerry

Put your TPC into conventional mode and make sure when you do that, PRESS THE SET BUTTON. Otherwise, when you turn the power off, your TPC will revert back to command mode (it is like it's default mode).

In conventional, you address the TPC and dial up the power with your cab1L. Or press 8 for 30% power or 9 for 100% power to the track it is hooked up to.

  1. Thanks all. I just found out that if you read the instructions like you guys suggested you can probably get things working fine as I finally did. I thought I was in conventional mode and I guess I was but I didn't set it right. Now that I said it to instructions everything works fine hand the units were good and everything else.

I am doing about 200 things at once on the layout and probably making matters more confusing for myself but thanks to you guys you get me out of trouble.

Much thanks for your help, Jerry
