I've watched video of the D&H Baldwin RF-16 units and noticed that the horns sound like a dying cow. This sound is faithfully replicated in Lionel's Legacy version as well as the 2001 MTH PS2 version. However, the CCII PRR sharks have a pleasant, almost harmonic horn. Did the PRR prototypes have nicer sounding horns or did Lionel put an incorrect sound file in the CCII sharks? I also noticed that the Legacy and PS2 sharks have a pronounced diesel rattle, whereas the CCII sharks sound like they run more smoothly. I like the fact that both A units are powered in the CCII version, versus a powered A and non-powered B units in the Legacy and PS2 versions. Maybe one has to choose between power and sonic fidelity. Can the CCII version be "upgraded" to the less pleasant strains of a prototypical RF-16?
