As I was comparing the new Lionel model to the prototype (which is spot on). I noticed marked “N.O. & N.E.” In the top corner. What does that stand for?
New Orleans and Northeastern Railroad which was taken over by the Southern Railway. I can only guess that after the Southern took over the Central of Georgia, NO&NE assets were assigned to the CofG.
