I plan on running my layout using a bus/feeder system, so I won't really be needing the LC Terminal FasTrack, but saw this on a video and wondered how they did it (because their website doesn't really explain their hacks/tips/tricks very well ... at least that I can see, which is frustrating).

Did they simply cut the cord off of a Lionel PowerPack and then afix stud rings or the like on the end, or is there an actual part?

I don't believe there is such a thing as a Lionchief terminal FasTrack. They are just using a regular terminal FasTrack that works for conventional as well as for Lionchief.

The regular terminal track is just like any other 10 inch straight but has connecting wires to the power tabs under the roadbed (and it has a cutout for the wires to come through). This amounts to feeder wires attached using some standard crimp connectors (see this link to another post) that can be used with many FasTrack pieces that have the power tabs.

Perhaps the confusion is the different connections(terminal 10” straight) supplied in the Ready To Run sets vs the terminal strip with pig tail and .110 spade connectors to the track and “u” connectors to a cw80 or other transformer.  The wall wart supplied with the RTR sets is 5.5mm x 2.5mm. Larger than what may be considered the standard at 5.5mm x 2.1mm.

Here’s the pigtail,

And then the RTR wall warts with 5.5 x 2.5 barrel connector and 10” terminal track
