Has anyone built a replica of the d-27 and use block signals to run a handcar and a train? Run the hand car every other lap and give it a looney tune theme with Wile e coyote on the hand car and road runner in loco. Is it possible to run something like this in conventional or would it be easier with tmcc or legacy. And if possiblle what would I need for adding the hidden siding

You could hide the handcar in the mountain and have it come out and run, then hide again.

A contactor or isolated rail to trigger a timed relay to control power. You'd have to work out the track length, speed(voltage) and timer duration for it to stop in the tunnel when finished.

Here's the D-27 in operation in case you haven't seen it. This is an original.
