Does anyone recognize this layout? It appears to be missing one pair of switches. It looks pretty basic, from late 40's with the 1121 switches.
Thanks, Chuck

This looks like the base from the first style with a pedastle and shelves as I can see the mounting holes for this. If you like some info e-mail me-Rick ricklyons@tds.net
This is the you tube video of the Lazy susan display I reproduce
Jagrick; love the photos & video. I also love that T-Bird & Vette.
There is also a '68 e-type jaguar in the pic I am restoring as well!!
Hi Jag,
Your layout pixs look close, but not quite the same. I believe the one I have is a original dealer display layout, but at some point it looks like a pair of track switches and some track to form another loop has been removed. (Maybe the original dealer removed the switches to sell.) I'm guessing from the hump back 1121 switches it was from around 1947-1949? Just looking for some verification if someone has this layout or knowledge of it.
Thanks, Chuck
This is a D40 from 1951. You layout is earlier and would have used the tower and sign I posted initially. I will send some pics from the dealer display catalog that shows your layout which is the only type I have seen that had the switch track go across the short axis of the board. I am in the process of reproducing the blue tower and sign above if you are interested-Rick
Chuck here is photo of layout as shown in catalog. I will try to get better pic but you can see the tower and sign. Most of the time the actual display woulkd differ or change from original and the photo of the blue tower and sign are the most common style in all likelihood.
You can even see the brown roadbed with no track
Hey chuck! you gotta restore this one. As basic as it looks, adding that unique shelving will do it wonders!
Wow Jag, That sure looks like it! Thank you much. I'll let you know soon about the repo signs you make.
Chuck
Chuck, did you ever do anything with the display layout?? If you ever have any interest in selling let me know-Rick
Jag,
Can sell, 200.00 + ship.

I will have Mick get in touch with you.
Chuck
Thanks--look forward to it-Rick
Replaced track with original Lionel (looks like Marx had been mounted). This is an early display, 1950, prior to Lionel using bus bars. A neat thing, and I will post a picture, is that on one of the support 1x2's there is a stamp that proclaims that the display is union made.
Working on shelves now and the banner sign as a topper (see earlier posts this string to see originals)
beautiful displays!
Yeah, I have 2 bug eye sprites, a 58 MGA, a mk1 and mk2 spitfires in addition to the 62 and 68 e-type jags. I hve a completed 55 T-bird and 57 corvette that. These are pics in my man cave where there are cars, trains, metal and wood working and a couple of big leathet chairs (courtesy of goodwill) and a small fridge with libations, some good bourbon and good cigars---a good time is had by all!
You've been busy.
Looking forward to seeing the completed display.

The devil must get tired of sitting in the corner waiting on you.

He'd just end up hurting himself and sue you if you let him use an angel grinder .
Are those disks brimstone? They sure smell like it!
