It is down to 120.00 for the last one.  Also, if you ordered from amazon within the last week but did not get one of the good deals they had.  You can usually contact them via IM and they will credit you back the difference as long as the price is currently lower than what you paid.  I won't do it for a dollar or two.  But I would for 10 or more.

Dept 56 can be addictive!!!  Heck, at $119 I might by another one of these!!!

Seriously, the "Christmas in the City" series is a great way to create an entire cluster of buildings for your layout -- especially where a little bit of forced-perspective is in order.  For the scale purists out there, Dept 56 won't cut the mustard... and the scale crowd will be much happier with the new Woodland Scenics pre-built models.  But for anyone looking to add a bit of whimsy to their layout, the Dept 56 stuff is hard to beat.  And the variety of buildings is endless.  I plan to incorporate many of the buildings I own in my next layout.

That's another building (Fox Theatre) they're trying to package with it as part of an up-selling deal.   The Chrysler building is definitely close to 2' in height.

P.S.  BTW, in the time I was typing my earlier post, the price jumped up to $200.    I'll have to settle for the one I already own.

Yes.  These buildings are addictive.

That's what I was afraid off.

Though, completely mesmerized with Brian's (PTC) incredible ceramic city, I don't envision incorporate this building nor future additions into my layout. My now 97-year old father had an extensive village that is now curated by a nephew. It began innocently with a few buildings under the tree that outgrew and eventually displayed in the basement family room. He would spend days crafting his charming village scenes.

At that price, you can't go wrong. Many D56 collectors paid full price at around $ 250.00.

Brian, the taller NYC structures are very impressive, and I hope they continue issuing them as well. The problem for me will be acquiring retired pieces at reasonable cost, I don't imagine many wish to let go of them.

Just so you know....back in the mid 2000's I visited Fortunoff's in New Jersey for the first time.

They had every DEPT56 Christmas in City available and on display.

I stood and drooled at the entire New York collection...

Why i did not buy it and skip out of that store like a happy George Castanza is beyond me.

The prices on ebay are crazy high for new/mint condition Empire State Buildings.  The problem is, when you read the description, those items are not new/mint.  A lot of them have some small problem that makes those prices even crazier.  Lights are bad, missing flag poles, appears to have been previously glued and on and on.

So true, and for these reasons I don't harbor any notion of success in acquiring them.
