Details on a Lionel "triple lash" set with TMCC? Will the Base 3 run it?

There's no issue with any of the existing capabilities for TMCC if the ad copy is to be believed.  I suspect it would be a much harder sell for the BASE3 if they removed some TMCC features, so my expectation is that it'll do multiple unit MU configurations as well as the Legacy system.  I've run triple TMCC MU's with my Legacy with no sweat.

Here is a triple MU of three TMCC engines done in April 2012 at the Richmond Children's Museum. I am counting on this technology to be preserved in the Base 3.

The GG1 and the NYC RS unit are K-Line. The Army RS unit is Weaver.

BobbyD is right, two units are powered.  I found the parts break out and it shows two units with motors.

Thanks to Peter and John for the insights. I am not currently a TMCC / legacy guy (...that is obviously changing when the base 3 arrives), but per page 8 of the manual attached, it looks like TMCC addresses all three units as a single loco.

You're looking at the default TMCC address for a locomotive from the factory, that isn't addressing the "lash-up" or more correctly the "MU" configuration.

When you have multiple engines, clearly you will not have them all addressed as ID #1!
