I want to add a switching crossover to allow access from an outer loop to an inner loop. I have 6 inches between the center rail of each straight run. The standard lionel switches dont fit and when connected the engine hits the switch housing. Is there a listing of center distances for various radius switches? I searched on here but couldnt find it.

Try using Ross #4 tinplate switches.

They'll do as small as a 4" parallel crossover, so just add a spacer track in between.

They also eliminate the nasty S curve switchback of the O-XX switches, and the motor is flat, so there's nothing to hit.
