Email about subscription I don't have.

I got it too, but it didn't bother me one bit.

If it was a mistake, I'm letting you know so you can go correct your database.  If it's suppose to be an ad, then it's in very bad taste and spam.

What??????  Why is an advertisement for their product/products "in very bad taste and spam.", when you are a "signed-up member" of their OGR Forum?????

When a new issue of the OGR Digital Edition is published, we send an email to everyone about it. By "everyone" I mean:

• Current digital subscribers
• Current print subscribers
• Expired digital subscribers
• Expired Print subscribers
• Web store customers
• All OGR Forum members.

It is our hope that these emails generate interest in the digital subscription so that more of you might subscribe to it.

You could say that this email is a combination of an announcement and a sales pitch.

A few months ago I purchased a "System Mechanic" program to fix and speed up my PC.  One of the features was the ability to block ads, which I gladly enabled.

However, I had to tell it to allow OGR ads.  There's a few (very few) websites where I don't mind at all getting ads, and OGR is one of them.  Kinda' like to stay in the loop for certain subjects, know what I mean? 

You might check to see if your keyboard has a "Delete" key.  I understand that they are widely available and also useful for removing unwanted e-mail.

If the taste it left you is “very bad” you could always get off the forum all together, and they’ll never bother you ever again.....

I for one invite them to keep sending them.....I need to get a digital subscription and support those that keep this forum alive for us.....my daddy taught me to never look a gift horse in the mouth!...good golly!...really??....total nonsense!.........Pat

The occasional email from OGR is welcomed to keep the forum and magazine going.

Expire usually does pertain to an agreement/contract with a stated time frame. 

It can also be used to refer to the death of a person.  A more subtle reference, similar to "passed on".  Whereas, "bit the big one", "croaked", "bought the farm", "riding with the reaper", are more direct.

I've never understood the "he is no longer with us" reference to death because that also applies when "he" leaves a meeting room or leaves the sound of your voice.

Also can be used to reference the air leaving the lung/breathing cavity.  In this case, used mainly by very sophisticated medical personnel.   

I've never had a doctor with a stethoscope ask me to expire or to expire some air. 

I assumed the OGR intent was about inactive forumites.  

I received that email about run run #311 as well, when I logged my subscription showed "expired". 

Paid for a 2 year renewal in August 2019, should be good through 2021.

Called yesterday and emailed today for correction - I'm sure they will fix it...

Hah. Back in the '90s, I subscribed to a British weekly that covered auto racing. Above the subscriber's address on the envelope the mag came in was the expiration date of the subscription - except it was phrased as "You expire" and the date. A couple years later they finally changed the wording.
