Great pictures of a very fine layout. I grew up in Glen Cove and it's great to see the LIRR modeled.
Excellent layout and photos to tell the story.
Congrats......

Love those pictures!
We got our C-Liner sample and Gromet will post them next week.
SIRT, thanks for sharing. It reminds me of riding the LIRR from NYC to Westbury on my way to Eisenhower Park. Frank
Thanks guys. I think the best thing about trains is it brings us back in time in this now crazy world we live in.
Charlie, I need a blue & white MTH MP-15.

Great pics as always!
How about a blue/yellow or blue/white Lionel C-420?
I hear you SIRT. It is high on our list along with a steamer. As for the Lionel C-420, we need to wait for them to reissue that mold to make it economical.
Nice job and great photos.
Like to add my compliments on a well done and interesting layout.
Hi SIRT, Your pictures look so real to Life, Your Immagination so vivid, Your Realism so Captured in a Time so Long ago, Yet true to Today....Its beyond Words....Thank You for posting these Great Pictures. Leapin Larry

GREAT models!
Many fond memories of the LIRR, starting with steam-powered (G5's) trips from Brooklyn (change at Jamaica) to grandpa's house in Hicksville in the 1940's. Later would ride from Woodhaven to Nassau Blvd. in Garden City to attend Adelphi College.
Many trips from Hicksville to Penn Station in the early 1960's.
SIRT,
As always, a pleasure to view, then study your pics. I grew up in Mineola with the Oyster Bay Branch running through the village, so anything Long Island is terrific, especially when presented by a master! All of my motive power is Long Island, so I really enjoy these posts.

Great pictures - reminds me when i used to take the train to Montauk with my Aunt.
SIRT,
I have most of those. Excellent references. An excellent site for all things Long Island Rail Road http://trainsarefun.com/, Steve Lynch and Dave Keller also authored the following two books:
Another classic reference book for LIRR history is "Steel Rails to the Sunrise" by Ron Zeil and George Foster, published in paperback circa 1976.
Fine modeling though my personal recollection of Long Island is of my grandmothers house in West Hempstead and going with m brother to Lafayette Electronics in Syosset. Don't remember any trains other than exhibits at the 1964 Worlds Fair.

Thank you for the reference to my books. LIRR books list: http://www.trainsarefun.com/lirr/lirrbibliography.htm Always looking to update it, BTW!
Great pictures SIRT. Thanks for posting. Being a Long Islander myself, I like seeing an all Long Island layout.
Fantastic work! The detail is amazing. I will admit i have some envy. Well done!
