I'm having fits with this produck.  It seems they go dead, but not all the time.  Im running a lionel o27 on the track.  Some times it just zooms around and then all of a sudden stops.  sometimes just leaning on the track gets it going again.

Is this a problem with this product?  Anyone ever experience.

I have a prewar that runs perfectly on its train board?

thanks for your responses

Captain Russ: Don't trust the pins that connect the track pieces together to deliver power to each section. If you add more feeder wires, your chances of maintaining power throughout improve. Take note of where the trouble spots are and address those areas first.

Some of the FasTrack pieces include clips on the underside that take a 0.110" connector for feeder wires. They are called "quick disconnect" type connectors and may be found on eBay or a number of other on-line shopping sites.

I built my small layout with Fastrack and noticed that my locos ran erratically.  I thought it was the locos until a friend tested one of them and said it ran fine. I finally figured out that the track was not consistent in the conduction of electricity.  I had to remove a lot of it.  I tried to make the connector pins tighter. I put it back together and had the same problem.  At last, I ran a bunch of feeder wires and the issue disappeared.  This was very disappointing as I spent over $700 on the track and then had to buy extra wire plus wire ends and re-lay the track to make it work.

I have been using fast track since 2005 and never had a problem.

1. Used on my layout from 2005 to 2015. Two main lines and several siding and 10 switches. (Layout taken down to convert space to a bedroom) layout size would have been 24 x 16 with two power leads per main line.

2. Floor layout for Christmas 2005 to present. Three large ovals using 072, 048 and 036 curves only one power lead per track. Another table top oval using 048 curves and one power lead. This is has been taken apart for 14 years.

For me I find it to be a very stable track system. I see reports several times of problems but I have never had them.

I do run an oval of Real Trax, now I have had several problems with it. However it is because of user errors. I just bend the heck out of those little tabs in the process of putting it together and taking it apart.

I converted to Fastrack several years ago. I run a 9x15 layout with multiple switches and sidings. Originally when I laid the track there was no problems. After about two years I started having continuity problems. Once I ran feeders to the areas where I experienced voltage drop I experienced no more further problems. As suggested earlier start with your problem track areas, run feeders there and see if that cures your problems.
