I'm working on my layout and need to add some command switches to control through my CAB2 (waiting....).  I have always used FT remote switches, but I always remove the little signal lantern and wiring as they are used on reverse loops and they set automatically.  If I do the same to the command switches, will they switch automatically and be able to be controlled by my CAB2?  I guess what I'm asking is how the command signal is sent...

I just don't care for the little switching lantern and I have no room for it anyway.

Thoughts?

Hi, I'm not quite sure if you mean the wired lever switch (Remote switch), or the little lantern that sticks out to one side of the switch, so I'll mention both.

The switch lantern can be removed on the command switches in exactly the same way as the non-command ones. Just remove the screws and remove it as if you were going to swap it to the other side, and simply don't fit it back on. The only thing is that you will have a gap in the ballast as there is only one filler piece supplied.

The wired lever switch can also be removed simply by undoing the screws on the underside where the wires are connected, and disconnecting the wires. The command signal will not be affected by this as all of the electronics are inside the switch body. I have removed this on all of my command switches and use my CAB-2 remote, or the switch lantern to change my switches.

The FasTrack command switches are great products.
