FasTrack custom pieces

I cut them flush, and make sure both pieces of track have feeder wires. That's it. Keep the gap of the two pieces as close as possible. I previously used this for lift gates with no issues as well as cutting it for a round table entrance.

very good.

i have on ocassion glued the cut pieces, however that is really not necessary.

And if you have a piece that needs some support, try using modler's clay for that.

It seems the LCCA adopted Rod's method. I tried the dremel through the rails on the second try which resulted in uneven rail cuts. Just not steady enough.

I hand file the rails to avoid the jumps or clacks if the pins cause misalignment.

I do it like Larry said.Just make sure there is a power feed on each side.I cut the fastback with a power miter saw with a metal cutting blade.Perfect every time.Nick

Use a very fine toothed blade on the saw.  I have a 10" saw with an 80 tooth carbide blade, does a very nice job.  Lower tooth count blades will not make as clean a cut.

Hey, the miter saw is good news. It's really not that violent?

With a fine tooth blade and a steady and slow hand, it cuts pretty clean. 

You will want a fairly new blade, I had to replace the one I used to install my daughter's composite flooring with to get clean cuts, that "engineered" flooring is really hard on saw blades, even carbide!
