Hello all.

Can I wire a pair of Fastrack switches together like I did my old standard O31 (O22) so that the autoderailing on one will trigger a change on the other?

Used to use this trick a lot to get a train to change a course automatically each time around the loop. Each time the train passed thru a switch it threw the other.

Just wondering if this would work with the Fastrack (reversing the curve/thru wires ) without fyring any internals.

Thanks

Sounds like you are trying to operate back-to-back reversing loops. If I am correct, you can just use two 036 manual switches. They won't derail your engine when the pilot wheels contact the switch points. I used this on my 2010 Christmas layout and it ran hours nonstop without any problems.

We've done that on our store layout. We changed the layout from tubular to Fastrack about 3 years ago. We did the popular figure 8 within an oval on a 4X8 table. Although we x-wired both pairs of opposite switches, we only leave one pair activated. That way the train automatically runs all routes, all directions. People love it! They want to do the same on their home layout. We show them how, give them a copy of the plan.

However...

Only current problem with that is that Lionel and distributors are totally out of the O36 remote switches! Mad Until April...so they say.

Thank you! That's pretty much what I'm doing.

Luckily I have 8 O36 remotes that I bought a few years ago.
