Where do you get those 8 amp fuses, the short thin ones, that go in the lockon wire.

Radio shack has some but not all. Auto parts stores carry fuses. Electronic stores.
I'll add my request for a good source, perhaps on line? I visited my local auto parts store ysterday and the fuses they have are the right length, but a little too "fat."

I thought the Lionel Lock-on had a circuit breaker. Are you referring to the inline fuses from the Powermaster supply cable.

Must be, the TMCC Lock-On has no cables, and the PowerHouse supplies don't have in-line fuses. I'm not sure how that cable figures in, unless they're using a PW transformer to drive the track.
It is. The PowerMaster cable has an inline fuse.
One also connects the TMCC Direct Lockon to the transormer with such a cable, also fused.
The Lionel product term is "Power Adapter Cable," don't have part # in front of me.

I had some success today over lunch in finding fuses. Radio Shack had the right size, but maximum of 5 amps. Their part number is 270-1056.
The fuse size is 5x20 mm.
According to the store drawer, 6 amp is also available, but they were out at my location.
On line, I found both 7 and 8 amp in that size at www.newark.com.
I picked up some 5 amp and will see how they do...may limit number of lighted passenger cars if I understand what I have learned on here.

Digikey has lots in all different sizes, and they offer very cheap shipping and quick delivery. I typically get small orders from them in 2-3 days after order, and the shipping for them can be as low as $2 by USPS First Class Mail. These are all in stock.
