I recently finished the first loop and sidings on a new layout.  In planning the layout I asked the forum for advice on switches to use with the Gargrave's track I already had.  Most replies were to use Ross and some had negative comments about Gargrave's switches.

Since the train store I buy from is a Gargrave's dealer and not a Ross, I decided to use Gargraves switches.  The loop I have in operation has 8 switches, 42 and 54's.  For the past 10 days I have run many times both pre and post war trains over them, slow, fast, forward, backward, and you name it and have not had a single problem or derailment.  These are all new switches as I decided from the start to purchase no used switches.

I am sure I would have gotten similar results with Ross switches but I am very pleased with my decision to support my local train store and the total layout will have 19 switches so I also saved a bundle of bucks.
