Later, updated printing can go $50 a book. Early book is less.

If you have the one that is titled "Sets" (I forget which number it is) those go for a big premium. If it's in really good shape those go for $100 easy.

The Lionel Guide to Prewar Sets by Dave McEntarfer is probably the most desirable of the books on prewar. It's pretty comprehensive, although it contains a few minor errors, and contains a ton of pictures of top shelf trains.
This book has gone for $150-$200+ at auction and on ebay if in good condition. Good luck.

The prewar sets book is volume IV. Volumes I and II are Standard Gauge and O, respectively. They are more common but can still go for $75 plus. I was lucky last year, I picked up a copy of the sets book for cover price.

The books are hardcover and are first edition (1988). Volume 1 covers standard gauge, 2-7/8, OO, transformers, motors, track and catalogued sets.
Volume 2 covers O, O27, accessories, catalogues and paper.
