Has anyone ever replaced the pot in their CAB-1? | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I have an early second-generation CAB-1 from the mid-1990's.

I'm finding that smooth speed control via the red knob is no longer possible, and it tends to "skip" a lot so that a slight speed increase is sometimes interpreted as a slight speed decrease (and vice versa) because of the increasingly erratic pot that controls the speed.

Has anyone replaced the pot in a CAB-1? And if so, might you know the specs and availability of the part?

Isn't the red speed knob an optical device? There is no pot to replace. See here.

It's optical, not a pot. A good cleaning will probably fix this.
