Hi Guys, I am starting a very simple layout plan to teach myself how to build a railroad.  This layout plan was begun as of a few weeks ago. Its very simple.  I had an old platform approximately 9'X5' in house that I shall use as my base.  On top of this I put together an outer loop of GG 054 track.  I have joined this outer loop with a RCS #5 LH and RH  11deg. switch(top and bottom of my 054 loop) followed by a RCS TR45 transition curve and then made an inter loop with GG 042 curves. This is my starting point and very easy to modify which I will as go down the road.

My 1st learn on this project.  Videos are out there showing methods for drawing a specific deg. arc to match my needed middle rail curve diameter. I don't know what to google.  Your input will be greatly appreciated.  More questions to come, please stay with me.

BTW & FYI.  I do have a master plan (RRT) and a  medium size upstairs spare room.  Tim has all of my room measurements and a copy of my layout.  As most of you know Tim was in the moving process earlier and  now he is in York.  So as of right now,  I feel  that  I'm on his list but don't know where.  I'll just wait in line and work on this current project.

My best regards

Tommy
