How to remove the conventional switch from Lionel command switches.

The title is pretty self explanatory. I'm upgrading all my switches on my layout to command control versions. These new switches still come with the old school hand throw switches, I've seen layouts where the gaudy and space-consuming manual switch machines aren't there. I am wondering how to remove these throw-switches so that way they won't clutter my layout. Presumably the switches should work without the switch controls as they can be run on TMCC alone.

Simply don't connect the manual switch machines. See link to command switch below. First paragraph basically states it. There is more on how to program on pages 6 and 7.

They come connected to the switch. I just want to know how to disconnect them. That's the same manual my switches came with and it doesn't help me figure out how to get rid of the extra switch machine.

Flip it over so it's belly up, loosen the screws for the black, red, green, and yellow wires. Remove the notch section and bend up the metal tab and there you should have it. Reinsert the notch section to cover the opening.
