Hi, the exact instructions vary by locomotive so they tend to be detailed in the locomotive manuals. If you don't still have this at hand, most manuals are available on the Lionel website. They are stored as PDF documents, so you can download and print a fresh copy.
Hope this helps.
I have the manual for my engine, but the method used is with a Cab 1 not the Cab 2.
Thanks Marty,
That did the trick!
I've been looking through my 1.4 manual and have not found this function yet.
The manual needs to be rewritten for "Dummies" I guess.
Hey Marty
Is that using the Cab 2(legacy)? just hit the AUX button? Hate to be a pain, but trying to sell a Legacy engine on the 'bay and it is locked up in neutral(AF Big Boy). I cant find my CAB 1 Base anywhere to do it the way the instructions tell you to.

You could change the command type from legacy to Tmcc or Cab1 and then the display will look and function just like a cab1
best to get the manual from Lionels website to find the exact commands for your engine
Yes if there is a code for it this procedure should work.
Where do I find the AUX code?(came up a couple of times) I will try to change the command mode to Cab 1.
This is a Legacy loco. I used the Legacy module for the engine. It seemed to download on the handheld ok.
I have lights I can turn the smoke on and off and the headlight with AUX 2, but no whistle/bell or movement
The AUX Code if there is one, is found in the manual under Restoring you locomotives features or something to that effect. What is the product number for the AF Big Boy?
Sorry Marty for getting so late. Product number is 6-48070
I have the manual, but no luck so far in resetting
