Ice cold express shipped (pictures added)

Just got a email from my LHS , that my ice cold express will be in tomorrow ,finally....Can't wait.

Is this based on a real train or is it a fantasy model?

The cars are real , but the engine and caboose are a fantasy paintscheme

Hey, Please send some photos of it. I have been dying to see it. My train shop is the worst in the world and I dont know if I am ever going to see mine. No one has pictures or videos anywhere.

I had mine pre-ordered last year and just got a hold of the place and told me mine is being shipped out as well! Can't wait. My 2009 LCCA Ice Cold reefer has been lonely!

I joined lcca to late to get one,they have them but $175.00 for a car is a little more than I'm willing to pay,I have the cryo-trans car w/ etd...infiqured someone would have had pictures up by now...

Weaver and MTH has put out the BNSF ice reefers in the past if you want to add more reefers.

GUYS the TTOS issued a LIONEL MADE BNSF ICICLE REEFER IN 2004 WITH THE END OF TRAIN DEVICE 6-52351 LOOKS SIMILIAR TO THE LCCA CAR BUT IS SMALLER, A NICE CAR.

Bowser also made RoadRailers with the Ice Cold Express. I got a set of four of those too along with the 04 TTOS Icicle Reefer.

The cars are actually fantasy also (or more appropriately, an indulgence in creative liberties). The real Ice Cold Express train reefers are actually from a different prototype than the one Lionel depicts. Most are actually trailers, either mounted on spine cars, flats, or the stackless railroader system (trailers mounted on bogies) similar to what Weaver offers.

Have you had any problems with the new set?
