Halloween caboose to match the engine from last year, the set of naughty/nice ore cars to compliment a similar set from years ago, and the Halloween witch/ghost flying tower gizmo.  I won't commit to anything else.  Right now tinplate is my latest fascination, and feels like it will stay that way for a while.

I agree with you 100%..I almost cancelled my order on several occasions. I normally don't discuss my issues with a manufacturer; however, I was very unhappy when I heard Lionel pulled the warranty out of the new 21 inch passenger cars. I have the entire AFT set on order. I would hate to have an issue with the cars in two months with no warranty. Hopefully they will still warranty the electronics in the station sounds car. Its hard to justify spending this amount of money without some form of warranty. Just my humble opinion

My friends who have ordered the cars (and since returned the cars) did not receive instruction manuals in any of the sets. The limited warranty is usually included on the back of the manual. Thats why I loosely used the term "pulled". It is also my understanding that there are no parts to repair the cars. Hopefully that provides clarification, sorry for being a bit vague.

Not placed yet, but for the most part, I am sticking to lower risk (per $) items in the rolling stock department.  Most likely will still order several Disney items (Villains Hi Cubes, Chip and Dale chase gondola), the Presidents series  caboose to go with some of the the cars I have from the past.  Maybe one of the camera cabooses, not sure.  Will still buy a Christmas boxcar.  Considering a few Polar Express cars to go with the LC set I got at Christmas, but pretty sure I'm not interested in all of them (though I am curious why they left the conductor announcements car out of the offerings).

I had briefly considered a Niagara or the H10 Pennsy set with the Hoppers, but the recent SP 21" car thread left me with a great big negative impression of quality (or amplified my already somewhat negative feelings, it's not like I thought things were "pie in the sky" before that).  I did order the Broadway Limited set from the previous catalog, so I am a bit worried about how that will come out in the quality department.  Not ordering any other big ticket items until that shows up and I see how they did.  (And just to be clear, I'm not calling them out on any small details that may be technically incorrect, just blatant manufacturing defects on what they actually produce.)

Lion Chief Plus GP38 in the NS First Responders livery. I’ve already acquired some rolling stock in this colorful paint scheme. This will be my motive power to put together a set of my own creation.

Was thinking about one of the new cabooses with camera but didn't see a road name that was of interest to me. Also would like to wait anyway and see some reviews on these.

Haven't figured it out yet .  Something, I'm sure.  Probably not a Niagara, because I already have one, or that would be on the list.

Contrary to some here, I won't be worrying about quality because I have had virtually no quality issues with anything I've bought in the last 25 years or so.

And if something isn't right, my local dealer, or Charles Ro, Lionel  will make it right or give me a complete refund.  Sky is not falling to the best of my knowledge.

Hallowe'en USRA.  Should be a tremendous addition to the Hallowe'en themed section of my new layout.  Plus, several other Hallowe'en items.  And the UP & SP standard, lighted box cars.  Others, tbd.

The only thing that might concern me would be catching the "QC Paranoia" (clinical term -   of not buying that which I like (and can hopefully afford upon shipment).

Nothing for me.  I will no longer pre-order Lionel products.   I am not opposed to pre-ordering, I just need to trust that the manufacturer will deliver the product advertised and if when it arrives I am not satisfied I expect them to return it.  I did recently reserve a set of GGD Super Chief passenger cars.
