I installed my DCS system just over a year ago. I run both MTH and Lionel TMCC without any issues. I have several Atlas steam and diesels engines as well (TMCC and rail sounds) and no issues. Run well, quite at start up until;

I recently picked up an Atlas RS3, Great Northern engine number 229, Atlas  #0437-1. When I apply power to the track I get a buzzing sound coming from the engine. When I start it up, it's still there but very hard to hear it over the engine sounds.

Took the engine to a club layout that has only TMCC/Legacy and when power was applied to the track, the engine was as quite as could be. Took it home, and the buzzing was still there.

I put another Atlas engine on the same track, turned the power on and no buzzing. Placed the RS3 back on the same track, and it stated to buzz again.

Back to the club layout, quite as could be.

Anyone have any idea or suggestions on what the issue could be and what I need to do to quite it down? I'm wondering if there is a wiring issue with my layout that this engine does not like.

Thanks,

RAY

Maybe an issue with components on the RS or RS power Supply board and they are picking up the DCS signal.  I would try reseating the boards.  Than I would swap in a good RS Power Supply board from another engine and see if it goes away, than the RS board.  If still present I would swap the R2LC.   G
