As I will be away tomorrow Tuesday August 29 and not able to get to a computer, so I'm starting this thread a day early.   IT's TEAM TRACK TUESDAY August 29, 2017 EDITION!!!!!!  Share your team track photos here!!!!

Team tracks are a vital part of day to day railway operations.  Team tracks are found in remote rural areas, small towns, and large cities.   Most all types of freight cars can be off/on loaded on team tracks.   MOW equipment and some passenger head end equipment can also be on/off loaded on team tracks.

Today on the Free State Junction Railway in lower Patsburg, we have a Santa Fe boxcar with lumber being off loaded.  The purpose of this thread is to inspire one another by frequently creating team track scenes to keep our railroads fresh.  As with the real railroads, team track scenes are changing sometimes daily.   Remember to share your railroad's team track photos here!

Have a wonderfully creative week!!!  See ya next week on the TEAM TRACK!!IMG_3285IMG_3293IMG_3300

The CNJ drill crew had orders to pick up Lehigh Valley 40' "flour-service" boxcar #62250 from the local team track.  CNJ SW1 #1010 slowly crept back to "make the hitch" but the brakeman could not get the boxcar's coupler to close properly...and the pin would not drop.  Upon further inspection, he discovered a large crack in the coupler shank.  Sounds to me like there may have been some rough handling by the crew who originally spotted this car for unloading!

Still within yard limits--and now realizing they could not take this car with them--the drill crew contacted the Yardmaster.  He instructed the drill crew to leave the empty boxcar on the team track and mark it with a "Bad Order" card.  He then notified the CNJ Car Department.

Here are a few shots of the well-worn, broken-down boxcar sitting on the team track awaiting the Car Dep't crew to come out and make the necessary repairs.

Was talking with some of the old timers down at the diner. They were reminiscing about the old days and how the railroad used to deliver just about anything on the team track. They showed me some photos that were taken back in the day...

It shows that with some grit, guile, determination and a lot of manual labor, those guys got the job done!
