John Bull Thread

Well, answered some of my own questions on the John Bulls after viewing the 'Ryan and Dave' Lionel catalog show on You Tube.

Forward direction only with working headlamp, the tenders and locos are "mostly" diecast with some nice brass trim. Draw bar couplers. Motors in the tender.

That video also answered a lot of my questions. It sure is an interesting product!

It is indeed. One of the first things that caught my eye when I read through the catalog.

Not my usual level of expenditure but I'll be thinking it over. Probably right up until the preorder deadline.

I ordered the Camden and Amboy set nd the Pennsylvania flat car set.

Got a link to the video about this?  I love these older locomotives, but being conventional really disappoints me.  If I can convert it to command, probably DCC, then I may go ahead and get it.  The recent brass-hybrid 4-4-0's are wonderful.  If this is along the same detail and quality, I may get one.  I was hoping to run it with the 4-4-0's as a lashup, not happening now.

These were supposed to arrive this month.  I just checked the shipping schedule on Lionel's website and they have been pushed back to June 2022.  At least they haven't been cancelled!

Gives me a little break as the Strasburg wood coaches are still scheduled to arrive in April.

Has anyone received any of the John Bull variations?  I'm curious to see pictures/video.

I just got a shipping notice from Charles Ro. My flat car display model is due soon.
