I hope you got or are getting a ride on the Lahaina, Kaanapali, and Pacific sugar

cane tourist train while you are there on Maui.  That is the only one I encountered but

I wonder if there are other sugar cane RR preservations on other islands..., or maybe a museum. I heard ofno other and drove four islands.  For a real Halloween spooky

feeling, visit a heiau (native religious platform) at night....

Kauai's Plantation Railroad has a narrow gauge line that mostly runs diesel but once in a while they pull out one of their steam engines. The main island has a narrow gauge line under diesel power but we are the only line with full time steam. Here is some video we shot. Their northern station is just a few blocks down from our house so we can hear the whistle sometimes. Don  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...zMi4Qi_9DUB_vs5FpHKA

Don, hopefully my family and I are going to be there this coming March. I try to make it there every other year. If my wife gets all the arrangements made, I will contact you via e-mail. I love Cheeseburgers in Paradise....but not good for my bad heart. The wife and I go there at least once while we visit your island. We watch the sun set which is beautiful from one of their tables.
