Last night was our first Halloween in Maui. They had a wonderful kids parade. Thousands of people and a great time. Don

Happy to see Thomas made it to the Island.
That is very creative.
Great pictures Don. It looks like a fun evening was had by all, apart from the dog, who would appear to be less than impressed with his musical selection.
I agree Nicole. It must be rap on that ipod. But I love those Hawaiian colored sneakers at the end of the tawny legs holding the leash.
Nicole, William, there were a lot more pictures later in the night I couldn't put on this Forum but there were no problems and everyone had a good time. After things were winding down Vicky and I had a wonderrful dinner on the water. Don
I hope you got or are getting a ride on the Lahaina, Kaanapali, and Pacific sugar
cane tourist train while you are there on Maui. That is the only one I encountered but
I wonder if there are other sugar cane RR preservations on other islands..., or maybe a museum. I heard ofno other and drove four islands. For a real Halloween spooky
feeling, visit a heiau (native religious platform) at night....
Kauai's Plantation Railroad has a narrow gauge line that mostly runs diesel but once in a while they pull out one of their steam engines. The main island has a narrow gauge line under diesel power but we are the only line with full time steam. Here is some video we shot. Their northern station is just a few blocks down from our house so we can hear the whistle sometimes. Don http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...zMi4Qi_9DUB_vs5FpHKA

Been there twice, riding the train was a must do both times.
Thanks Don for posting these pix. As you know, I love Maui.
Roger, we have been here a year on Nov. 15. We honestly can't believe we live here. It is an amazing place. We have made more friends in less than a year than we ever made in the last ten. In the end it's about people. Don
Oh, forgot, we are having dinner with one of our forum members tomorrow night. This is their first trip to the islands. Aloha Don
Don, hopefully my family and I are going to be there this coming March. I try to make it there every other year. If my wife gets all the arrangements made, I will contact you via e-mail. I love Cheeseburgers in Paradise....but not good for my bad heart. The wife and I go there at least once while we visit your island. We watch the sun set which is beautiful from one of their tables.
