I have both Legacy GP 30’s in Santa Fe (6-28381 & 6-28385). Tonight was the first time I have ever tried setting them up as a lash up. When in a lash up (does not matter which engine is the lead), then run as they should forward, reverse, speed match , lights, etc. The problem is the sound. Both engines have all the sound functions happening at the same time, crew talk horn startup, etc. I have tried resetting the engines both as a lash up and individually, but that does not correct the problem. I even tried a lash up with one of GP30’s and a Legacy GP35 and the problem still exists (actually tried both GP 30’s). So the problem lies with the GP 30’s. I am running 1.60 of the Legacy software. Any suggestions as to the problem and hopefully a solution?

Thanks,

OK, I have heard from two of you about turning off individual sounds on one engine of the other.  Since I don't want the echo and out of synch crew talk on both engines, how do I do what you suggest.  Out of all the TMCC and Legacy engines these GP30's are the only ones that this happened to. Any idea as to why and it something that can be corrected.  I went back to 1.52 from 1.60 and that makes no difference.

After adding the engines to the lashup, scroll to the engine in question and use the keys on the bottom row, to turn on/off the horn and crew talk.

lashup

Thank you for this info.  But I am still a little confused. Since the lash up is already built where do I do this action.  I am thinking that after I select the correct train (in my case TR 14) I would push the info button and then build as that is the only place I know that shows the engines in the lash up.

You select the train and push the info button.  Then you make any adjustments to the configuration and then press the right hand button, that sets the configuration.

You can toggle the horn on any engine, but the crew-talk will only move between engines.  Like I said, I found that if I put the crew-talk on the lead engine, it also came from the trailing engine.  If I moved it to the trailing engine, I didn't get both talking.

Thank you, that worked.  Not the way I would like to see it done as I thought that the lead engine would be the only engine with the crew talk sound and horn.  So far only the GP30's seen to have this problem. Is this a known problem for some of the Lionel engines. Has the problem been corrected for the newer engines.
