For the past couple of years my LCS system has worked perfect.  Now the issue. Today several of my 15 LCS modules have the activity red light on constant and I can't seem to get the lights to turn off.  When the activity light is on the modules will not operate. For those modules with the light off they work fine. Thinking that perhaps the problem is the base, I have a spare base but no improvement when switched. Perhaps it might be the LCS power supply. I reduced the number of modules on the system, same problem.

Do you think a bad module could cause this problem?

There have not been any changes in my LCS system for more than a year.

All suggestions appreciated.

Jim,

The solid red LED indicates that there is no connection to the base. Typically when this happens, it can be a bad LCS cable - the cable connected to the power supply.

What's strange is that only some of them have the LED on while others are fine. Where in the chain are the modules with the LED on? If they're all in series at the end of the chain, then it could be a bad PDI cable or (less likely) a bad module.

Need a bit more info to help.

Dave
