Does anyone know when the legacy Consolidations are shipping? I haven’t heard really anything about them and I was just curious as sto when they’d be arriving! Thanks!

Charles Ros website says an eta of 9/10/22.
If that holds true. They should start reaching buyers by the end of September beginning of October.
You have to wait until September and see if dealers push back the eta.
Yesterday I received an email from MrMuffins Trains that payment is due for my 2-8-0.
Have they hit stores yet? Cant wait to see them.
I talked to Ryan Kunkle from Lionel this past Tuesday they arrived at Lionel so they will be shipping out this coming week or the next if they haven't already started shipping.
Just a heads up I got an invoice from Trainworld so I assume they're here since they charged me.
I think I saw that Pat's Trains got their NKP and B&O custom runs in, so the rest shouldn't be far behind. Waiting on my Maine Central from Charles Ro.

I received my Santa Fe 2-8-0 today from Charles Ro. Opened the box to check for damage (none!) is all I had time for but I sure like the look of it.
It is my first Legacy steam engine so looking forward to seeing it in action.

That was then. I've been bit twice by Lionel in the last few years. One was a steam switcher with a quasi Legacy (BMC?) install. It was reported that it ran fast. The other was a steam locomotive that was so bad that Lionel sent all back to China for rework. I sent mine back too late, so it wasn't repaired. I didn't have any financial loss on either of these, but I'm not risking it again. I left both of those failures in boxes, unpacked, until I knew they were good and they were not.

I spoke to Pat (Patrick’s Trains, Wheeling West Virginia) a few hours ago today and the B&O 2-8-0 Consolidation is there, I paid the bill and he will be shipping soon. I’m excited and hope this locomotive works on arrival. Happy Railroading Everyone

Watched this video. Thanks to Soo Line for posting. Looks like not only is there a flickering firebox glow, but it also causes flickering of the tender back up light. I also, and maybe it’s not as noticeable in person as on this video, noticed the overly bright front marker lights made the loco more look more like an approaching UFO than a steam train. My .02
The flickering of the taillight is an artifact of the video process, you don't really see that in person.

This is my first Legacy engine and I am hooked. The quality and detail on this engine is amazing compared to my LC+ 2.0 stuff. Already planning on how I can save up for my next one!
Any news on the Grand Canyon 2-8-0/ set?
My new 2-8-0. I may re-letter this for Erie. Adding a few details and a little paint work perhaps…

To you fellows showing pictures of your new. Legacy 2-8-0 Steamers, @PeterC, the Maine Cental looks beautifully and colorfully and realistically decorated, @jstraw124, I love the C&O, nicely realistically decorated, @Krieglok, your New York Central is nicely realistically decorated to. These beautiful made realistic smaller steamers, Lionel says they operate on 031 circles so should be excellent sellers to those with smaller layouts that want feature rich operating fun when running their trains. My B&O model should be here in Tennessee mid next week. I do not have any steamers with this wheel arrangement and do to the price point, I added this to my fleet. I’m now waiting on the 0-4-0 Legacy steamer with the slope back tender…..Happy Railroading Everyone

Hey Jet, great video (although as a lifelong Braves fan, your background flag needs an upgrade). You have a top-shelf camera crew!
You mentioned in the video being limited to smaller Legacy engines. Given that, you should check out the upcoming Legacy Atlantic from the 2022v1 catalog. I believe there is a NYC version. They’re rated for O31 and should be nice like your new Consolidation. My experience with Legacy engines is the same as with a bowl of Chex Mix - the first grab leads to endless more.
I hope you and your sons have hours and hours worth of fun with your new engine on your terrific layout.

Thanks for the idea, I had looked at that engine a while back but decided on the 2-8-0 because I liked the looks a bit more. I'm going to be a little patient and see what comes in the 2023 v1 catalog, plus that gives me some time to save up!
Question for everyone, am I missing something on the whistle steam, does that not work with Bluetooth? Do I need a legacy controller for that? Just wondering why it doesn't seem to be working.
As for the Mets vs Braves, going to be a great match up this post season!
I’ve never used Bluetooth, but I don’t believe you can adjust the smoke level in conventional mode. Legacy engines come set at the “low” setting. If you know someone with a Legacy system, take it to their layout and set it to “high”. I believe the setting should remain in memory thereafter.
One other thought: cover the main stack with your finger and blow into the whistle steam opening. Sometimes an air bubble will block the smoke tube.
I also use more fluid than the manual suggests for the initial fill.

Thanks @Rider Sandman for the hint! That worked, a little extra smoke fluid, let the engine warm up a bit then I plugged the smoke stack and blew down the whistle steam hole.

Awaiting the Western Pacific version at my dealer. Out here on the west coast, you can add a week or two to the wait from when east coast dealers get their merchandise. Looking forward to it; the only Lionel item I ordered this year.
Just got out the Santa Fe. Here’s some pics and a video. This is a great little engine. I will be putting something to filter the light coming from the firebox, it’s a little bright.
