Legacy Cab-2 &Base Software Version 1.54

Timely, I'm going to do some updates for folks at the club, might as well go for the latest.

Good stuff. Nice to see Lionel are proactive on the 50Hz issue.

You can always find the latest if you just search Lionel for the 990 console, and then click on the software update link.

I have 1.52 version,am i missing anything by not installing 1.54?,I don't know anything about installing these things,the last version i installed gunrunnerjohn made me the black modules for me,if 1.54 is really necessary then i would have to ask gunrunner john to load the modules for me,if he has the time to do it.

Gerald, it's not a requirement for US operators. Most of the changes are related to running on 50Hz power overseas.

Rudy,thanks for a quick response ,good to know.

If you plan on using LCS, you need at least 1.53.  If not, I'd wait for the next update and see what it brings.

gunrunnerjohn, I don't get involved in anything that involves using the computer to run trains ,download updates,or any of that stuff,these things are way,way over my head,to much for my simple brain to handle,thats why i ask for help from good people such as yourself,& other forum members,i need to keep things as simple as possible.

1.52 (not 1.53) is required in order to use an Layout Control System (LCS) components.

Thanks Rudy, I thought that 1.53 was some fixes for LCS, so I figure if you're using it, you might as well have all the fixes.

Just downloaded 1.54 and installed it.

I installed it just so I could play creating modules using my laptop and the Legacy WiFi. Works really well.

No problems here, I loaded it onto mine and the club, seems fine.

I just got two new black modules in from one of our sponsors so, I will be giving the update via the wifi a try this weekend.  I have 1.52 now and everything I have works fine.  Is updating now worth the effort.  Does the AUX 3 buttom do anything?

The AUX3 does something, still a secret however

Right now, apparently all the AUX3 does is trigger a minor bug on one locomotive's software.

There is no significant effort in upgrading, and it's good to give it a go to see how easy it is.

1.54 must not have been all that important as i just received my repaired Cab2 and base from NC and it was upgraded to 1.53 only.

Legacy v1.54 is important for the small group of customers who are running on 50Hz power (UK, Europe, etc).

Just downloaded V1.54 and loaded into 5 different Systems (Clubs, Mine and Friends),. Went like clockwork. SMoooooooooTh. Good job Lionel!!

That is broken with the new Lionel site upgrade.

In fact, even the links on the new site are broken.

Marty's links are not working now either.

when lionel update their web site they did not make old links send you to the new section.  to me this is a rooky mistake or lionel wanted to keep costs down.

Anybody find the link to Legacy 1.54... THAT WORKS???

Still not impressed with the new web site - lots of FLUFF, no substance

IE: want to purchase a freight car; should be some hierarchy to go by...

I am with you on the new web site, very disjointed in what looks like a quest for a one size fits as it relates to OS, customer UI
