About 2 weeks ago both my Legacy hand held controllers failed. Legacy bases both appear to be charging the controllers, but the controllers don't work even with new rechargeable batteries installed. Back to Lionel, I guess.

That’s odd that both failed. Give us more info as to not working.

Are both controllers on the appropriate/same channel as the Legacy base?
controllers will not turn on. And they are on the same base channel.
I would try regular akaline AA bateries - just don't put the handheld into the base unless you turn the charger function of the base off (switch on bottom of base) and/or put some tape over the contacts on the base to insulate handheld from base.
Any update?

Agree, very odd both would fail at the same time

Great way to narrow down the cause. And I always use known good batteries to test. Picked up a case of AA's last month and when I opened it one of the batteries had the white death powder on the bottom. Due to issues with the charger getting really hot we have been using regular batteries.
Hopefully we'll get an update.
