one of my Legacy steam engines (Daylight GS-2) stops at certain parts of my track. It always happens in the same areas of track. When this happens the front light starts blinking. When it stops I can not use the horn or the bell; and I have to adjust the throttle to get it going again; which only sometimes works. My other legacy engine has no problem (the light does not blink and it doesn't stop).

When the engine stops, I think I smell a burnt rubber odor in the area of where the train stops; but I am not sure

What could be the problem

this is a follow up of my problem where my  legacy engine stops and   the headlight blinks at certain places in the track; It is certainly a signal problem. when I put my hand over the engine the engine starts up again.  Now this is a relatively new problem; as my engine ran well before on the same track.

So I began to think of what I did in my train room that was different since the problem began;and I came up with it. ....I STARTED RUNNING MY DEHUMIDIFIER IN THE ROOM. When I unplugged the dehumidifier, everything worked well.
