I have the Lionel Legacy system and all has been great until today .  The keypad on my remote does not respond on certain of my road numbers (its obvious the most used ones) and the start up and shut down buttons.  Has my board gone bad in my remote ?  In hind sight I did have a near collision, and hit the "red" button in time.  Reset all, and now it started the problem.  Any ideas?  I appreciate the help.  Thanks in advance.

There has been a rash of issues with the CAB2 lately.  Give Lionel a call.  Even if your out of warranty they most likely will fix it free of charge.  I just sent mine off to them the other day.  Keypad went bad, screen went bad, and the channel select button on the bottom went bad so I couldn't upgrade to 1.51.

In a near collision event, the operator can probably depress the red halt button with pretty good force.  This may have mashed the switch or flexed the board and started the problem.  Try pulling out the batteries for a while and cycle the halt button serveral times just in case it is partially stuck or hung up.

I know this is an oldish thread, but I just had a very similar issue with my Cab-2.  I had an engine assigned #41 and it's dummy as #42.  One day the remote just wouldn't let me push the 1 or 2 buttons after I hit the 4.  Tried resetting with the button as well as the upgrade modules, but no luck.  Sent it back to Lionel and they sent me a used, but repaired replacement remote at the cost of shipping it to their Ohio repair center.
