I am at the point where I want to add skirting around my layout (for a reasonable price). I have some ideas, but I would like to see your skirting.

PS. I know this is St. Patty's Day, but please remember this is a family forum, and NOBODY wants to see what's under those kilts! Just layout skirts

I used black landscaping cloth, it was in expensive and I think look good.  I had a lot of area to cover and professional skirting was really expensive.

Now that is a great cost effective idea, I agree it does look very nice.

For my small 5x8 layout, I only needed a covering for one 8' side. I used a sheet of wood wall paneling (Home Depot), sideways. The pattern is "wainscoting" which is uniform tongue-in-groove wood strips about 2" wide. It is held to the top of the layout with 3 small screws, so it only takes a few minutes to remove when needed.
