I am considering getting the Lionel Lionchief Plus 2.0 Amtrak P42. How close is the engine performance to a Legacy engine. All my locomotives are Legacy. I seem to be getting mixed opinions from several of the train shops I frequent. Thanks for your thoughts.

My understanding is that LC+2.0 are electronically essentially TMCC locomotives that also have the LC functionality (bluetooth). Nearly all are semi-scale, including the LC+2.0 P42s, which are old MTH Railking tooling.
I have run a few LC+ 2.0 engines here, and I own a couple of the little LC+ 2.0 0-6-0 Dockside switchers. They're a full TMCC locomotive with fan driven smoke, electrocouplers, cruise control, and decent sounds. You can run them right alongside your Legacy stuff.
