Does Windows 10 not support serial ports.  When trying to run LSU, the configure post utility shows them as disabled.  When trying to run LSU ver 2.0 on an older computer, running Windows 98, the advice screen pops up as missing the "tabctl32.ocx" file.  I am just trying to create a black module for CAB-2 ver. 1.6.

Did or does anyone have a fix for this problem?

A couple of questions...

Do you currently have a USB to serial adapter installed on the Windows 10 PC or does it have serial ports on it and Windows 10 just doesn't recognize them?

What version LSU are you running?  1.1 is the most recent.

Do you have an LCS WiFi module?  If so you can connect to the Base via the WiFi and make them that way.  The WiFi just replaces the serial connection from the PC to base.

Windows 10 does not see the serial adapter when I plug it in.  When I start the LSU program, the communications advice box opens and reports "ports disabled".

Until Windows 10 see the USB to Serial, I'm pretty sure LSU will not recognize it.  Are the drivers loaded for the USB ? Serial adapter?  Maybe go to the USB to Serial manufacturer's website to see if they have updated driver perhaps?  I'll admit I am unfamiliar with Windows 10 so my questions may seem elementary.

Windows 10 supports serial data just fine, here's the LSU 2.0 on Windows 10 Pro.  I'm just bringing up the Windows 10 computer, so I just loaded the LSU and connected the Legacy to the serial port.  Woke right up with no problems at all.

It would help a bunch if you told us EXACTLY what USB adapter you're trying to use.

I suspect the old RS one didn't have proper Windows 10 drivers, I had an issue with the first release of Windows 10 for my printer, and it's a modern networked Canon!  They finally did get drivers that would work, but every new operating system has some of that.  Also, I have some old stuff like a fingerprint reader and a couple of Webcams that will never be supported by a modern Windows system.
