I understand the motor and circuit board maybe bad in this and Lionel does not stock parts.....It plays music and the lights fire up but it will not spin.!
Has anyone else had this happen? Did you fix it?

Yes I had and it has been dead for about a year. I just threw it out. I had sent it to Lionel and sent it back..Nothing they could do. I just bought a MR. Christmas parachute jump to replace it. It broke my heart to toss it but, oh well!!! I just did it on Tuesday.
That's too bad that a $229 MSRP accessory and a "maintenance-free motor" has to be scrapped because the mfr can't repair it and/or doesn't sell parts. If you're resigned to scrapping it but are up for some Do-It-Yourself poking around under the hood, try the Electrical Forum where you might get ideas on replacing the motor/wiring or repairing the circuit board. Posting photos of the guts of the accessory would be helpful.
