I’m looking into purchasing this engine and was wondering if I can upgrade it to use a Bluetooth connection also?

Anything is possible given enough time and money but no, it is not just buying a BT module.
It's currently based on modular Legacy which is long before bluetooth was added. https://www.lionelsupport.com/...tive-Only-6101224001
Somehow I knew that was my answer. Thanks for sharing.
I suggest you pass that one by. That one is a nightmare to work on, and the modular electronic parts are no longer available! If something goes, you're out of luck! Look for one of the more modern Atlantic models with whistle steam based on the RCMC. They're much less packed and are a ton easier to work on as well.
@gunrunnerjohn whoa, slow down a little with those acronyms 😂 RCMC?
Or as an alternative BLUNAMI? I’m curious what some of you more seasoned guys in the hobby have to say about the newer outlier tech.

I think John meant RCMP. But maybe they have a cavalry, too.
No, I really meant RCMC. This is the board that Lionel Legacy locomotives have used from 2010 to 2020.
In 2020, they moved over to the LCP2 and LCP3 boards, LCP3 for steam.
I call the LCP2 and LCP3 board gen three legacy. Bruk is doing drawings for these like he did for the earlier versions of Legacy.

I'm planning on building a test set for the LCP2/3 boards once I have good connection data for them. I've already gotten a lot of use out of my previous generation RCMC & BEMC test sets.
Looking forward to those diagrams which will be much more complete. Again, a huge thanks to Bruk for all that he has done for the hobby.
Mine are just the connectors labeled at best- and even that's not covering every situation.
John,
Do you have a schematic for the RCMC? I have one but would like to know what/where the connectors go.

See, even me, I got caught out. Should be the latest version
Note, you probably should be checking here too, the Legacy reference materials and links https://ogrforum.com/...rials-andamp-manuals
Vernon, thanks for the info. I really appreciated your response.
