I did not see another thread on this so I will kick one off.  If there is then this one can be killed...

I am looking at this set and giving it heavy consideration.  I have recently gotten into O Gauge and I love UP big steam.  I have no experience with Lionemaster steam engines or the 2010 (I think) previous run of LM big boys.

It would seem that the vision line BB rerelease might be around the corner and I am not sure which way to go.  Half the price for the LionMaster than vision obviously but less detail.  Currently I can not run O72, but it might be in my future.  The LionMaster would be an immediate go for operation with my set up.  Any opinions on the JLC/Vision line vs. LionMaster big boys in the way of detail and overall appearance when considering the price difference.  I have poked around on YouTube, and while there are some decent videos, I have not seen a really good compair/contrast video between the two.

Also I am  wondering, will the new run of LionMaster BBs have whistle steam? I do not see it in the catalog, but I do see the 2015 LionMaster challengers had it.  Seems odd to me that the bigger boiler of the BB would not have that while the Challenger would.  I also wonder if the set will come in its own decorated box (given the conversation on the SP mechanical reefer set). Also, die cast Sherman tanks would be awesome! Although I’m sure they will be plastic.

Maybe Ryan or Dave will chime in on these questions.

Anyone else have thoughts or plan on ordering this set?

Ben

Dont have a lionmaster big boy but have a lionmaster class a. It is an amazing engine, lots of detail, nice proportions and still big . Runs and sounds great with lots of bass. Ive see scale lionel big boys and really 072 is too tight they have huge overhang. The lionmaster would look good on 54 or 72 and if you dont have other scale size articulated engines most wont know it is not scale. My opinions only!
