Me again.  Please pardon my ignorance of the finer points of DCS as it's been a couple of years since I regularly operated PS2 engines on our home layout.

I took our PS2 K-Line Hudson to the club this afternoon and ran it some. When I first received it and loaded it into the remote, it came up as NYC Hudson ***** (don't remember).  That was the only time I ever saw the name like that - sometime along the way it became just "#3".

Today I deleted it and performed a conventional reset. Then reloaded it and again it still shows up only as #3.  Why would the original name ID change whereas all other PS2 engines show what they are in addition to a number in the remote?

PS  This one was upgraded by JDS Ltd several years ago...

Yep that's what happens with a factory dcs reset with a upgrade kit installed in the engine.  However the good news is..... You can give the engine any name you want  under the engine set up menu and have it stick. If ever  needed, do a feature rest , The name & ID  will still stick. Need a good battery though.

It is well worth it Gregg.  Loading files with the dealer loader helps someone who may do a factory reset.  Many people want custom names.  I say if what you are doing works for you, stay with it.  I was looking to hopefully meet you last summer at TTOS.

Hope to meet you as well Marty. I've actually been to Barrys and was shown a really good time.   Maybe I  could sign that wall?
