I have acquired a number of 42inch diameter switches and have stated to think about what might be possible using them with my existing 027 track and some new 42 inch diameter curves. I have a small loft layout approx 12 X 12.

Not to worried about a plan as such - I am sure that will come to me but does anyone out here have any pics of layouts built using 027,042 track to give me some inspiration please?

Thanks MIKE

2. It had to take a lot of wire to make it run so well, how'd you hide it?

Every K-Line switch is used as a track power connection point, so there are only 3 lockons on the inside loop that runs under the tree and four on the trolley loop(2 are for power, 2 are for the station stop sections). Using the fixed voltage option on the switches("F" post), the now otherwise unused "track" post is used for center rail connections and the "G" ground post is used for outside rail connections.

The switches are controlled by a SC-1 and Cab-1 including route selections when they are not being switched automatically with the non-derail feature, and the switch control and track power wiring goes into the basement behind the control stand through hidden holes drilled through the floor just below the shoe mouldings. They come up at convenient places through the house in a similar fashion(front closet, son's bedroom) using mostly telephone station cable(4 conductor). This all stays in place and is pulled up into position seasonally.

Great video Rob!

Ace - sorry should have said - its a round the room style, so I operate from the centre.

OK, can you show the actual dimensions including the centre opening area, if you would like a plan that will fit your existing layout table and allow for good access from the centre? Photos would be useful, too.
