Well the exclusive MTH Engine is an LIRR MP-15 and I just ordered my engine in the Blue and White color scheme. There are two number choices in blue and white as well as a second color scheme. For those in the store today Nassau was offering an incredible sale on some select MTH engines and somehow a LIRR B6 Switcher also found its way into my arms, THANKS Chris

LIRR MP-15, 170. It’s been a long wait. Looks like the blue & yellow caboose will see more action next year plus I can run modern ACF box cars now too.

 Questions –

Did MTH update the RK MP-15’s to SMOKE?

I assume this unit will have all the markings less the M logos? Greg will be busy I assume.

Thanks John for the offer but I model a certain time period. Other than the Weaver Central Operating Lines Babylon trailer, I don’t purchase fantasy items.                     As for the MP, it will probably stay new, not weathered when operating on my layout.

So, will the RK MP Diesel be upgraded by MTH with smoke like the PS3 VO-1000 or did they do that on the last offering?

SIRT, don't know about the upgrade, will ask Rich and get back to you on that one. 

  Did the last MP offering have smoke?

If I recall correctly, the MP15 never has had smoke. I suspect there is not enough room. PS3 may make it possible but I would prefer none anyway!

Will the engine have the M markings?

Smoke was added by MTH as an improvement in recent years to RK diesels and the Premier VO-1000 unit shown above. Nothing to do with room, all shells are basically the same. It's a long plastic shute from the stack to the smoke unit on the VO but it works great.

M logos can be obtained by Greg our forum member or can be printed out using photo paper with the PC. A square sheet with the M logo LONG ISLAND can be glued to the cab and front sides using 3M spray adhesive. Easy fix.

$350.00 for a logo less RK engine, the least MTH could to is add smoke. Tell Rich we want the smoke added.
