I am sure alot of us have requests for coal hopper paint schemes we think the big manufacturers will never make. I would like to see Southern Railway "silversides". https://www.google.com/search?...rc=bnYNGfPds2ci1M%3A

I understand Menards is in to the more flashy toy like paints than prototype flat stuff. So how about making it a hybrid of the silver gondola with oval herald and the "Big John" hoppers? http://marketplace-images.coll...17017204_3224959.jpg
The SOO LINE Ortner 4-bay covered hoppers built in 1959 have the slogan Custom Equipped - Custom Service on a blue panel.
The SOO LINE Thrall Car 3-bay covered hoppers built in 1972 have the wheat graphic on a green panel.

Is the quad hopper the only hopper available at this time? They look like the Lionel post war/ MPC hoppers, or the Williams quad hoppers. The Williams are just a tad shorter then the Lionel model. I was wondering if the measurements are compatible. Does anyone have any? If so, can I get the inside measurements?

I would like a string of Canadian National hoppers....Paul
This is one Canadian National scheme for a hopper: brown with white lettering.
Another scheme for a Canadian National hopper: cool gray with red lettering.

I inquired about dimensions on another post. Below is information from "Mark the Menards Guy".
10-3/4" L (hopper only), 12" L (coupler to coupler)
3-1/4" H (including coal) measured from rail
2-3/8" W

Thanks for the measurements, I'll have to compare them to the Williams and Lionel.

I am hoping they do some less flashy hoppers and tank cars at some point. Would love to see anything in Nickel Plate or Wheeling & Lake Erie.
Love to see Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, New York Central and/or Reading!

Those dimensions match up with the Lionel and Williams quad hopper. Does anyone have the inside dimensions? This is the Lionel. I have a Williams Alaska RR hopper, and it can convert from a covered to an open hopper by removing the top. Both cars inside dimensions are almost identical. The length of the Williams is just a tad shorter. To fit the Lionel load, I just had to sand the length a bit. It would be interesting to see if three different manufacturers' products would use the same load.

Western Maryland Railway
P&WV / Pittsburgh & West Virginia
Some Buffalo and Pittsburgh would be nice.
Western Roads wanted here: Mopac, Rock Island (not "ROCK"!), Burlington, Rio Grande, etc.
The 2016 MTH catalog has Reading and Western Maryland 2-bay fish belly hoppers at $65.00 each.
How about some that they will sell a lot of:
N and W
N/S
Clinchfield
C and O
Virginian
Why buy @ $65 when you can get for $19?
Do you want "MISSOURI PACIFIC LINES" and MO-PAC with the screaming Eagle together on the hopper?
Would some UP hoppers be an obvious choice? If you had a big boy engine, you could buy a butt load of UP hoppers for a pretty good price.
*however, since a buttload is about 63 gallons, I guess that would be technically incorrect since its a hopper and not a tank car.
Second the request for Virginian
I would love to see Chessie System Hoppers and Box cars
Same for Frisco,SP,Cotton Belt, ICG, GM&O and Illinois Terminal.
I'll second the C&O.

This is what the old N&W paint scheme looks like on a similar hopper.
Andrew
Here is another view of the old N&W open hopper.
If they make OHIO CENTRAL, what would the paint scheme look like on an O gauge freight car, since real OHCR cars are usually plain brown or black.
Andrew
There has to be a MILW-MILWAUKEE ROAD four-bay open-top hopper.
In a yellow and orange body paint scheme with red, black and white graphics.
